So I have been waiting to get a Nissan 240SX coupe. I have been looking around on craigslist. Around 3 to 5 years ago, there were plenty of clean stock 240SX out there. Everyone was selling their stock 240SX. Something like this.

Very clean and costs around 3k for one of them.

So then few years later, I was checking up the market for 240SX again. Surprisingly, it is so difficult to find a clean stock 240 nowadays.

Such as this, you will discover

I asked.. Why would you do that to a such beautiful car. Why would you put on parts that doesn't even look good on 240SX?

Now, it is VERY difficult to find a nice and clean 240SX in Bay Area SF. I am giving up hope slowly.

These days I have been thinking and came to a conclusion. Why not just get a cheap car first? Then later on when I have an stable income, I will just spend some more money onto a clean 240SX.

The first car came to my mind was Honda Civic. I can't believe I am liking EG and EK a little bit now. I used to dislike front wheel drive car, because I am into drifting. Since EG and EK are cheap to play around with, saves gas and fun to drive around. I have decide to look for one. I don't really know the market for EG out there, still need to do some research first.

I want something like this. It will satisfy my lust for 240SX for a while. I hope.

And of course, I am not gonna give up my 240SX. Still in love with that sexy S13 front end.

I do not own any of the image of the cars in this blog post. They are just pictures from the internet.

  1. I'm sorry to hear your search isn't turning up anything good! We got lucky with my 240, she was a bit rough ($2k for the car, needed a bunch of new suspension bits when we first took her home) and all, but she was mostly stock and ran like a top on the original engine, with 286k miles. :) Of course, now she's got the SR20DET, so she got expensive quick.... (By choice, she was still running fine with her KA.)

If you get a Civic like that, it would be awesome. ;) There are so many hatchbacks from SoCal you could draw inspiration from -- Personally, I think they're the best Civics I've ever seen in this country. Sean & I have been thinking about picking one up ourselves, because he's got a huge thing for them (used to have an EG hatch) and I've always wanted a CTR. :P

PS -- Your interview went up today, thanks again!! Also going to see about framing either this morning or on Sunday, I'll let you know how it goes. :)

  2. It's fine! Just got to look around more. You got your 240 for 2k? That's pretty good!

    Thanks for the interview Megan!

  3. Right place at the right time for her, really. We found the car and decided to buy it the next day. Two days later, she was ours. No regrets at all. :) For searching, I know the pain. It took months before I found the right Miata. It'll happen, though -- it's almost like falling in love, you just know what car is the one you're supposed to find. :P

The pleasure was certainly all mine! I do hope it helps expose you a bit more. :) (It's in the framing process now as well.)

  4. Man I know what you mean...I've been looking for s14's and it's the same deal :\ I'm in So.Cal., and in all honesty I'm starting to give up hope..they're either all beaten to hell or poorly taken care of, or they're automatic and clean as a whistle. I can't be bothered with tranny swaps or engine swaps in my current financial situation but man. I feel your pain!
